have the y harness connected from flaps/slats to my aux3 channel. But only the flaps work. How can i make it work? On my dx8

Greetings,I would like to resurrect any post regarding use of slats on this model. I discovered the model would not rotate easily with slats extended for takeoff but have heard they do reduce landing speed. Also,it is a problem that if you use a y lead the slats will be reversed compared to the flaps or whatever you choose to pair. I see the slat operation as the same as gear eg you need 100 percent travel selected to achieve start/stop of the slats. Any comments are appreciated...
