Freewing F-104 CG, maiden crash and repair

Flew my F-104 (maiden) 3300 mah 60c battery all the way back. Nose heavy but figured it'd be ok. Nope. Flew like a pig and wallowed on take off. Couldnt make the turn to crosswind and crashed. Broke in half at the battery compartment. Repaired and repainted. Cut out foam bulkhead and now battery pushed back just over the gear bay. I also used foam to raise the battery about a 1/2" so it doesn't interfere with the gear. Flies great, lands perfect with 30 degrees flap, mixed with up elevator! Repainted with Tamiya acrylics and sprayed with Satin Minwax polycrylic

Wow!!! Great job on the repair. Maiden flights can be tricky sometimes. I just test flew an EDF the other day where we put the CG 2/3 of the way aft within the CG range and it was all I could do to get the aircraft back on the ground safely. Anyway, great job on the fix and it sounds like you have it flying good now.
