An interesting few flights today. The 10s conversion is going well! But sadly the low voltage cut off kicked in early and I had to dead stick into the neighbouring field, does anyone know the orange paint code or a matching colour please? Thanks

OK kids, I joined the 8S Zeus Club! In "stand out in the crowd" Orange! LOL! Ordered from MotionRC just now. Actually very excited, need a break from military jets with something fast and fun! I'll use my new FrSky X18SE with a Tandem rx with gyro. Been watching video of the guy with the blue one who set it up for FPV...and I think I'll end up doing that. I fly drones too so I have the stuff, just printed out the head tracking device on my printer, and I ordered the Arduino chip to do head-tracking. If I can wire up a drone, I'm sure I can do this.. but yeah, the Zeus looks awesome either way - FPV or LOS. Now back to reading the thread! :)

Went back to Home Depot today and a guy there made a very good match for the blue paint. Because it's satin, it's a bit shiny, but if you take a dab of hand sanitizer on a cloth and lightly go over it, it comes out perfect!

We now have an EDF/UMX runway made of Geotech. I've never had an issue flying my Avanti there on the grass field, so I'm hoping the gear is the same! :fingers_crossed: Looking for a color match for the blue. I went to HD and Lowes today and they couldn't get a close enough match. Does anyone have one??

Looking to buy a Zeus but read someones comment comparing the Zeus landing gear to an Avani and said the Zeus seemed to be cheaper than than the Avani and does not hold up as well on grass runways. Does anyone have any opinion on this? Thx!

I will happily let you know the results, I used a HW 160 esc on the viper jet and Hrb 6000 6/3S in my viper jet, the thrust was fantastic and sounded great, the stock zeus motor has a slightly lower motor KV so I don't think that would be an issue, but the FMS unit is metal so much better at dissipating the heat. it will be an interesting experiment. I need to get one first and see what size packs I can fit in and then go from there. Tho at the other end of the line just a decent jetfan unit or another schubler unit on 8s would be good fun.

What ESC are you thinking and what battery configuration/ brand/ size? A lot of people ask this question and you never hear back from them for whatever reason. Most just go 10S or 12S as they are already doing the ESC (with a better fan such as Jetfan) and 9S is odd to find a battery combination to do.

But quite a few have been successful doing 8S on a 6S fan, specifically the Eflite 70mm F-16.

It would be interesting to hear how it goes.

Same answer as the other site. "We get that question a couple times a week. Go for it."

I ran the fms 1500KV unit on 9S with great results so would be looking to put that fan unit in, but curious is anyone and tried 9S with the stock unit and an upgraded ESC?
