That jet is also known as the zdfly or Hobby Lobby f86. They came equipped with an 80mm 8 blade fan on a 4s motor. I have one and they fly phenomenally well. If one can't afford the almighty 80mm freewing version then this one would be a great alternative, if you can find one of course. No retracts but ball bearing links and good tough foam for an Eps airframe.Comment

OK old thread I know, but I find out new things about this model all the time. My version which is the ZDFly is the exact same airframe, only they stripped all the bells and whistles out of it and put in a beefed up power system - 80mm 8 blade fan on 4s which could only accommodate up to a 2200 lipo which is housed at the bottom of the airframe and not the canopy. But holy shiznitz is it fast and it sounds like a turbine. I would even venture to say that it sounds like the freewing 80mm version if not better. But yeah, no retracts, no speed brakes, no flaps. While these things are certainly cool to have, landing the model without flaps or brakes isn't all that hard to do, as a matter of fact, it's one of the easiest landing edfs in my fleet. It would've been cool to have retractable gear though. I would imagine all of these extras would have bogged down the bird performance wise as lighter flies better. Here's a video of mine...

Hard to catch on camera with a small silver model against a bright blue sky so half the flight had to be edited out. But man, li...Comment
