So I got the 8S setup. Anyone having issues with CG? I’m using two 5200 SMC 4s batteries and this bird is nose heavy using the wood pieces included with CG markings and also using book CG. What is your experience on the 8s setup as far as CG? I have batteries as far back against the blue box as batteries will go. I added 1oz weight to tail and she balances perfect. Would like to hear your experience on 8s setup on this matter. Thanks

How heavy are the batteries? My 8S will be here tomorrow and I'll use a 6+2 that together are 800g. On the 80mm the balance could be so far back that the front wheel could be off the ground and fly well. Doing some math the CG on the 90 is further back on the wing than the 80 correcting for the 12% bigger size.

My only question is there a wire to turn the slime lights on and off. I've programmed my TX assuming there is.

EU stock available now. A few pieces left.

Regarding CG - same story as with 80mm? I'm wondering, how bad the factory CG is anyway.

              1 red 6S 6 red 8S, 8 green 6S and 4 green 8S right now. Definitely a smaller shipment to the EU.

No wire for lights like on f-35 110mm to switch on and off. Either plug them in or not.

ID:	453865 Four flights today. Flys as good as the 80 and is just about as user friendly with the easy on wings (I keep the wings on the 80 all the time. I needed a bit more down trim with flaps than the book has and just like the 80 it needs to be balanced as far back as the tail sits on the ground to fly neutral. Great plane. No issues. 7 minutes on 5300 8S HV.

Good day I have one ordered the 8S version and was looking at using either a 6S plus a 2s together. I have some 4,400 SMC 6s, 5,000 mah 6s, 5500, and 6000mah. Or would it be best just to buy a couple of 8s batteries and go from there. This will be my first high performance jet I had an old stinger 64 or 70 years ago that we ran on either 3/4s 2200. With no landing gear that we hand launched and at times could be interesting LOL I do have a couple of 12s 73 and 74-in acrobatic planes so I know about doing the two in series or parallel whatever it is.
thanks for any comments have a great day

I have almost no 4S batteries and they are only 3500's but many 6S and 12S batteries so for me it was obvious to do 6+2 for 8S. I did buy some 8S packs but they were expensive and limited where my 6S were not. I'm flying GNB 5300HV packs that together are 800g. If you fly anything more than probably 900-950g you'll probably have to be creative balancing. I am flying for 7minutes on the 5300 and coming down with 55-60% left so a smaller battery won't be a bad thing. That said I don't fly full throttle all the time.

                        Welcome to the squawk.

if you go 6 plus 2 get a series connector and do a voltage check once connected to be sure. I think you would be better off using the same make and C rating for both to get as even a draw down as possible. Worth checking cell resistance of both batteries whilst you are at it. If in doubt get new 8s lipos the lighter the better perhaps 5400 lihv if you can get them depending on what flight time you want. Note comments already made by others about c.g. I would err on the side of a neutral c.g but that is personal preference . I prefer to fly with light batteries off our grass field to keep the landing load down on the suspension of whatever I fly and I fly my 80mm Avanti S on 4500 or 5400 6s Lihv and it is more agile on the 4500s with little flight time difference for me. I have yet to order the Avanti 90 as I am happy with my 80mm at the moment and waiting to see what the next 110mm offering is before taking out the wallet. Enjoy flying your new Avanti.

What HV 4500 and 5400 do you have? Is there a matching 2S?

I use CHNL Lightning 4500 Lihv for the Mig29 and you can buy matching Chnl 2s pack total weight approx 935gms I use Turnigy Bolt 5400 6s on my 80mm Avanti but they do not have matching 2s but If you already own the Turnigy Bolt 6S 4500mAh and desperately need a soft-pack 2S to finish the 8S series link then if A.I is to be believed you can buy a premium third-party LiHV flight pack:
                                • The 2S Companion: GNB (Gaoneng) 4500mAh 2S 70C LiHV Battery available at specialty suppliers like HobbyRC.
                                • Why it works: Turnigy Bolt V2 batteries are rated for 65C continuous / 130C burst high-voltage discharge. The GNB 70C LiHV soft pack matches the peak 4.35V charging ceiling perfectly, and its true flight-pack C-rating will safely handle the current draw alongside the Bolt. [1, 2]

MAH needs to be same otherwise one runs out before the other and you crash and burn !!! e.g 4500 6s with 4500 2s good 4500 4s with 5400 4s disaster strikes. The 6+2 makes 8 the 4+4 not so much !!!!
