  • Freewing 90mm F-104 Starfighter - Color and visibility in the air

For the MotionRC guys that have been flying the F-104, or anyone with an opinion; what are your thoughts / opinions on the two color schemes and how well they show up in the sky?

I'm a bit colorblind so silver planes against a grey sky sometimes makes it really hard to see the plane / orientation. I think this could be worse with the F-104 because of the stubby wings.

I was going to get the Yellow for better visibility and it's uniqueness but something keeps drawing me to the silver.

    Buehler, Buehler, Buehler...

Anyone from MotionRC care to comment? You guys have been flying both of them.

I have gone with the Yellow on Black scheme as I believe the Silver would get lost for me. I Have not flown it yet but from past experience I know the Silver would be an issue. After getting mine I can tell you I am extremely pleased with the colors. Hopefully get a flight in this weekend and will report back once I do.

That big ole T-tail should help you more than the color I would think. I'm thinking of getting one but I am not sure how well the 104 would do on grass. Has anyone flown this bird off grass?

I found the silver to be not a problem however the three landing lights glare just before dawn can make the jet disappear. I may disconnect the nose light.
