  • A video flight review of Freewing F-18 64mm perhaps by Pilot Ryan??

Would love to see a flight review of the Freewing F-18 64mm jets. I'm very interested in the Freewing F-18 or FMS F-15. What do you say Ryan?

The F-18 is using a Change Sun 64mm fan with 2800kv motor on 4s. The F-15 is using a motor fan combo that we found on ebay. I have a friend that has an F-18 with the same ebay fan combo in it and it is even better. It draws 50amps full throttle and the thrust is incredible for its size! Oh and when you balance it as I have the sound is even better!! Here is a video of the F-15 on it's own..

Wow, that sounds awesome! Pretty darn fast too. And, that sky was amazing. Is that smoke from the wildfires?

Thanks, for the info and link.

The wildfires in California always gave us gorgeous sunsets back home in Colorado. At a terrible cost though.

I prefer the F-18 between those two choices, Julinick. It goes together very quickly, and the screw on wings are very easy to replace. Remove the landing gear for a whole different flying experience. With the landing gear it's slow, but can fly impossibly slow and stable carrier landings. On pavement I can roll to a stop in less than 10 feet. On grass, it lands like a helicopter with a slight headwind!

I think any 64mm EDF would be beyond Pilot Ryan's skill level!!! :p

It is by far one of the best flying no glue jets out there! The F-22 is the same too! The landings are awesome when you get used to them. I wish that they could get retracts into these planes without shooting the weight through the roof....

That looked like allot of fun and the sound is great. It really looked fast too and the poor GeeBee did not have a chance. But none the less great video.

Great video and a fast model. I should have a small EDF.

I'm not really a fan of the FMS quality but the F-15 has been a blast to fly. So good that I'm going to buy another just to make it a 4S. that being said nothing compares to the quality and flight characteristics of the FW F-18 and 22. Top notch flyers.

So right Wayne! How did I miss this thread. We actually just got the F18 and as soon as weather allows will be taking it up.
