Freewing F/A-18 V2 with EA-18G Growler option

I had recently seen video on youtube of someone that titled their video "Freewing F/A-18 Super Hornet/EA-18G Growler 90mm EDF Jet" and all he had done was add some jamming pods to it. This made me think that there has to be more RC pilots out there that wished there was a Growler version. Freewing could fairly easily do a modification to their F/A-18 to be modular and come with the option to configure it as the single seater Hornet or the twin seater EA-18G Growler complete with jamming pods. It could even include the decals for the different squadron liveries that operate each version. I am sure that a new V3 with dual option configuration would increase sales.

that would be cool...my question is ,,,is the navy painting there tails again as the f18 above is? when I was in they cut out all the bright colors and made them all gray and grayer lol with a light dull black squadron marking...nothing looked worse then a P3 without a cool pic on the tail

Usually one from each squadron is painted with a colorful tail these days.

Another thing I forgot to mention about other changes that should be made to a V3 of the F/A-18 would be to get rid of the thrust vectoring. It just adds unnecessary complexity and cost to a plane never designed to have it. Thrust vectoring is something that should just be left to the Su-35 or a future F-22 Raptor.

+1 on nixing the thrust vectoring for this bird, it is the single reason why I won't consider buying this airframe. The Hornet was the replacement for the A6 Intruder when it was decommissioned, an all purpose fighter/attack....... not a flop it around in the sky 3D whatever .

heres another buyer who passed on it because of that thrust vectoring crap. its not on the real 18 ,so why add it to RC? just something else that can go wrong.

Found this short but to the point good video clip of the EA-18G Growler overview.
It would be cool if the jamming pods on the RC model also featured rotating jamming spinners.

Cool! I wish I could have stayed in long enough to transition to the Growler.
It would not be hard to get the spinners to turn. They're just ram air turbines. They turn a generator in the jamming pod to provide electrical power. So all you need is to make a similar spinner and just put it on a free turning bearing. Airspeed will do the rest. :)
