Does anyone have experience with this Freewing T 45 plane? Would a receiver with a gyro like the Spektrum AR 9350 with AS3X work well - or should I stay with the AR 9020? Thank you, MBoost

(This is my opinion only and you are at liberty to take it with a grain of salt.) That plane can take up to 9 channels. I take it you have a TX that has at least that many channels? Those RXs are hellish expensive. Personally, I'd look at one of these: http://www.rc-castle.com/index.php?r...roduct_id=3562
And if you decide you must have a stabilizer, take a look at one of these: https://www.motionrc.com/collections...-airplane-gyro
I've been using Lemons and HobbyEagles in some very expensive EDFs and they work as good if not better than any genuine Spektrum RX. In fact, there are Spektrum RXs I will never touch again (eg. AR8000).
Have you seen the flight video for this plane in the MotionRC site? Also, you should find as many YouTube videos you can and see how this thing flies and catch any nuances on any quirks that might be there. Of course, the opinion of those who own it is also very valuable however, an expert flying any plane can make it look like child's play.

Hi MBoost, I headed the development project for the Freewing T-45. May I ask a few questions to better approach how to address your initial questions?
Have you used the Spektrum AR9350 with AS3X on another 90mm jet before? Do you already own the AR9035? What is your experience and confidence level with 90mm EDF jets?
If you already own the AR9035, I'd say start with that. AS3X in a jet always gives me reservations, because gyros are only as good as they are set up. If they're set up correctly, great. If they're not... not great. This hinges upon the user's proficiency in operating and configuring their gyros or gyroceivers properly.

Like Alpha indicated, xviper2 is on point with the Lemon Rx suggestion. Better than half my fleet uses them. Here's the source I use here in the states.
Best of luck,Warbird Charlie
