I FLEW IT!
Maiden flight, overhand toss, as the grass even shortly cropped is too much for the wheels.
Just a slight dip and off she went at 95% throttle, and my toss was slightly upward with a little up elevator.
Reduced throttle to 75%, and I did 4 laps around our field all left turns then did a figure 8 to come back the other way to do right turns.
It passed in front of the sun during the right turn and I lost it in the glare.
When I was able to re-orientate myself after 2 - 3 seconds of impaired vision, the jet was rolling right while turning right going inverted.
Did the classic pulled when I should have pushed and and went straight into the ground.
The nose shattered like an egg shell despite using carbon fiber spars as reinforcement as well as gorilla tape.
However, it is already all glues back together with good old foam tac glue and drying.
I had a ton of fun with those 4 laps until the sun got into my eyes and ruined it.
But, this was my first EDF I have flown, as my FMS T45 has a bad ESC from the get go, and my Free Wing 60mm F-86 could not even get airborne.
Cant wait to get in the air again, but doubt it will survive another crash.
Using a Dual Rate "Low" (70%) I felt the jet was still too sensitive.
I am going to set up a "Safe Switch" as well in case I lose it again and can just hit the panic button.
