I just purchase the A-10 and was wondering how other people place there electronics. The compartment seem small for the receiver and wire. Can anyone post pic of how they built there's, thanks
Bob
There wasn't much option but to place the receiver in that compartment. I have mine resting on the bottom right in that compartment above the wiring. The only other way to move it is by using servo extensions which I wouldn't recommend.
Wanted to add , I have a Graupner Rx in mine which is a little bigger than a Spektrum 6channel Rx, i stuffed all the wires under the battery tray, i had to use some extensions , but it works and the Rx i put in that slot that goes to the steering servo, now when i put the Lipo in i can put it all the way up front, will try to get a picture later and post it.
Hope this helps
I have a couple of questions as I begin the build of my new A-10. I've flown for years a LONG time ago - fuelies - and have now just gotten back into the sport. So I'm still learning the electric game and here is my confusion.
On the A10 for the flaps and ailerons... How do you calibrate the servos so that the center and end points are the same on each servo?
Kind of same question for the flaps? And is it possible to reverse one of the servos through TX programming? I know you can reverse servos in the TX settings, but since both the flaps and ailerons use servos in pairs off of a "y", how do you adjust one or reverse one without doing the same to the other??
What is EXPO? Or where can find info on it?
Also, would it make sense to remove and reverse the fan on one of the motors so you can run them in opposite directions to reduce torque roll?

The only way to center the flaps and ailerons is to have them on one servo apiece and a digital radio, the expo is the deadspace on the gimbals so when you move the gimbals a little the servos wont react as fast, heck that the best way to describe it
another way is to buy a normal servo and a reversed servo here at MotionRC
hope this helps
I will be happy to post a few photos of my A-10 setup tomorrow when I get into my office.
The A-10 is a sweet flier and I think you're realy going to enjoy it!!

Greetings THX1326,
I'm not sure what torque roll you might be experiencing with the A-10 but I have never had that issue with mine.
As mentioned, if you want to individualize your servos, you will need to split them into individual channels with a specific reverse servo.
The A-10 is very well engineered and a simple build.
A simple servo tester will get all of your servo centered to 98% of each other.
There are MANY decent youtube videos on EXPO - what it is and how/when to use it.
A great place to start is with Capt. Mike's fun video (DR. Expo)!!! Just click on this link.
I am interested in using magnets to attach the ordinance to the Freewing A-10. Can anyone provide specification or a URL of the type of magnets to be used that would also hold the ordinance in place while flying?

Almost there...
Thanks again
I used rare earth magnets found on amazon for like 6 bucks 5mm round x like 1mm? total of 30
In the tradition of disappearing bread bag ties and socks once they enter the dryer, can some one explain to the how RC Airplanes can mysteriously return from flight without their canopy? And no one sees a thing???
I mean, when flying, we have constant eyes-on our planes, Right??
Now, one would think that if something of comparable size relative to the entire plane, like a canopy, were to fly off in flight it would be quite obvious to the pilot who is in sustained visual contact with the plane at all times, Right??
And surely someone esle at the field would catch a glimpse of the canopy floating toward the ground, and mark its location for post-flight retrieval, Right ??
BUT, NOOOOO!!!!
The plane lands, minus it's canopy, no one saw a thing (including the pilot!) and said canopy is no where to be found!!!!
What is up with that!!??!!
Now, this happened yesterday while flying my Dynam Turbo Jet!! Now, this plane has a good sized black and white canopy too...... so, go figure!!!
I just don't get it!!
Hence, my excitement over a place to obtain GOOD magnets!!! Thanks!
