I usually do emails, but yeah they have been really good. Unfortunately the radio that I thought was not working correctly actually was. Or at least works now that they have it. He suggested it might have been the esc, but it worked absolutely fine with a different radio. I don't understand it at all.

oh well. I'll find a use for the radio when I get it back. I'm just saying beware the detrum radios. I don't know why it didn't work when I had it. The plane just lost signal as far as I could tell. The way the control areas went straight and the motor slowed down instead of stopping. Unless the esc somehow screwed up the receiver? Hmm. I don't know what was going on with it.

damn I wish I got offered a new airplane lol. I'm not as good a customer as you though. I've spent a lot recently, but not for years. Still I like this company a lot. My dad let me know about them. All of his friends also buy from motion and say they are the best.

Does anybody have any ideas for paint scheme? I have thought of a few, but I don't think I would be able to do them very well. So that tells me no for thunderbirds. I kinda like the idea for blue angels, but I'd need water slides or stickers for almost all of that. There's not a lot of real life examples for other paint schemes. Also the stock paint looks way darker and bluer than factory. I like it, but I want something that grabs the eye a bit more.

If nothing else, I'll hit the bottom and nose with a lighter gray to make it stand out and easier to see where the plane is directed. I'd like to use "yellow 13" from ace combat 4, but he flew an SU-27 in the game. The "bad guys" in most ace combat games flew Russian jets, besides I'm saving that for when I get an SU-35 from freewing. Mobius 1 obviously would be a good idea, but all of the player planes were standard paint, just different squad emblems. Obviously if I can find a few stickers I'll put them on. Nobody would get it unless they were as big a nerd as me.

Anybody? Anybody got a good idea they don't mind sharing?

Yeah like I said lol. 2850kv motor, 12 blade fan, 60a esc. Same kit as the 4s F-16.

did you fly it yet? How does it compare to the old motor system?

Anybody know where replacement elevators can be found for this plane? I mean other than motion? Unless somebody inside motion can give me a little heads up when they might come in?

i can't even believe what happened... I was walking out to the field and dropped it... broke the corner off the elevator. It also broke the control arm. So I don't quite trust flying it with a glued together control piece. The foam is ok, but I don't really trust flying with a glued together control arm...

and id rather buy new elevators rather than a box of control arms since it's still a little damaged looking.

also... anybody here upgraded the motor? Is it even worth it going from the 2850 kv 12 fin motor to anything running 4 cell? I haven't really felt the need. It flys really great as it is, but it might be nice to have a little more vertical power.

Has anyone had success flying this plane on a bigger battery? I'm thinking 2500 mah or 2600 mah. Will it fit?

I'll buy a 2200 with it if I need to, but I have some 2500s and 2600s laying arounf from other planes that I'd rather use if I can.

I fly mine with HRB 4S 4200. flys much better, not as floaty and has alot of vertical. you have to remove the battery tray and clip the little plastic peice off the bottom of the tray, and reinstall but other than that it fits fine. i center mine in the battery bay and cg is fine. It does add extra weight which is harder on the MLG, i had to reglue mine in once after a hard landing but epoxy fixed that and have had no issues since.

Hey Guys. Sorry for the need for two posts. This is the first time posting pics. Got my F-35 about three weeks ago and was not happy with the battery arrangement, so I did some surgery on her to see if I could get a 6S 4000 in her and things worked out pretty well, except maybe she isn’t as pretty as she used to be, with some scars from her C-section. Also upgraded the wire gear with an F-16 nose gear and two mains from an F-5. Had to do some carving to get the gear in since the nose gear is longer and the F-5 mains rotate when retracted but from the sides she looks great. Also upgraded the fan/motor with a high performance JP 6S 70MM setup from Falcon Hobby along with an 80 amp ESC from the F-5.

Finally got the chance to fly her today and she’s a rocket. I had the vectored thrust slaved directly to the elevator and rudder and found that when landing it would pitch up whenever I tried to pull back the elevator at very low throttle or even throttle off, so bringing her in on a flare was next to impossible (maybe the CG was to far back?) Got her down pancake style though and knocked the mains out, but I have already repaired them pretty easily. Now I need to figure out how to disable the vectored thrust on the servo that is tied to the elevator. The problem is that when the servo is disabled it wants to shift up or down on its own when the servo is not energized. Any suggestions?

Overall very pleased with this F-35, and as someone else already said, she is a beauty. To bad the foam is not of the same par as the other Freewing planes, and I am a little concerned about the lack of a wing spar as I can just imagine that with this brittle foam I could snap the wings off by pulling to many Gs. Anyone know of another F-35 (or F-22) in the 70mm or higher class that is nicer than this one?

Hey can someone help a brother out? I ordered the front nose retract system for my starmax 70mm hornet. I need to know the measurement from the base (mounting holes) to the bottom of the tire.

                          Thanks in advance.

I just painted my F35 using some masks from Callie Graphics... Super happy with the results, and only a couple hours worth of work!

This is such a great little jet...

Can this plane be flown WITHOUT the thrust vectoring, and if so, how. It's in competition with the FMS and Sky Angel versions, and while I like the retracts, the trust vectoring seems like a pain,

Any thrust vectoring set up can be disabled by just not plugging in the servos and or gluing it in a fixed position. But note that this model does not appear to have functional rudders so by disabling the thrust vectoring you would loose some alternate rudder control unless you just disable the vertical thrust vectoring and leave the left and right vectoring active. The best solution would be to just install a servo on each rudder to have rudder control and completely disable the thrust vectoring.

Thank you. I'd probably go for just the disable since I'm used to not using rudder on planes.

I'm completely opposite of that lol I'm flying my wing and push some rudder to start my turn and theres nothing and I keep pushing anyway as I add aileron. I have a hard time with planes without rudder. I use to not, but then I started realizing how smooth my turns become when I added rudder in and haven't looked back since.

I love this jet, it's very fun to fly. I will admit that I would like to get some extra power out of it though. Has anyone had any luck with upgrading the motor and ESC to get some more speed/thrust?

Hi, i know this is an older plane but still fun if you ask me. The only thing i didnt like much about it was the color scheme which is kind of hard to see in the air so i gave mine a little overhau. If you like to know more about the rework, please check out my youtube channel, i will post a video about the mod in the next few days, enjoy the pics .
