  • EDO F-4 Phantom thoughts?

Let me start by saying I love and NEED a phantom in my hanger!

I'm looking for comments from those with experience with the EDO F 4 Phantom version 2. I'm considering getting one. from what I've read, I'm not expecting it to be the quality of a Freewing, and its an older model, so I doubt the detail on the model will be as good. But like I said, I'm dying to get a Phantom. Also, I have similar sized EDFs (3 and 4 cell), so it will fit in with the other planes I have.

So here is the big question: Do I get the EDO version and later get a better quality one when it becomes available, or do I just wait hoping someone produces a good F 4?

From what I have been reading on these forums there currently isn't a decent model of the F-4 on the market. Much of what is out there seems to need a lot of modifications to get them flying right not to mention the investment in time and money. I know the feeling of wanting a particular model. I my self would like to see a AJS- 37 Viggen but the one model that is out there is made by Flitetest is way too simple and even though it is super cheap to build I know I would end up putting way too much money into it than its worth. So I suggest just being patient and saving your money for now and wait on a quality model from Freewing. From what I have seen it seems like the F-4 might be on preliminary development because of its high popularity.

Here is the link to the F-4 forum thread.
