  • TiredIronGRB's Salvage J-10 Build

One of my good flying buddies crashed his J-10 and had it in the back of his trailer in a trash bag, I peeked in the bag and said "I think I can fix that' he immediately started laughing (he may tell you why). Anyway I got the J-10 on the workbench and started checking to see if all the pieces were there...they were, every single crumb :)

I laughed because that was exactly what I told the guys who were with me when it crashed you would say. ;)I knew if anybody could make that thing fly again it would be you and you would welcome the challenge. I misjudged my altitude on a low high speed pass and it caught the grass just off the edge of the runway and disintegrated. It was spectacular. I will definitely be following your progress Dr. Frankenstein. :)

Excellent progress! Thanks for introducing me to the wonders of Foam-Tac. I have ordered some for myself but you might need about a gallon for that.

I have the paint colors I used on that if you are interested in those as well. Would make the replacement wing look better too. ;)

Holy mackerel! That thing is tore up. It'll be fun to watch TI work his magic on it. :)

The flexibility of Foamtac, it will fix any thing. Looks good and for scrap price you can splurge on new wings. ;)

I got to see in person today what TI has done with this and I was amazed. It is almost perfectly straight and the seams do not look bad at all. Considering the condition it was in when I gave it to him I am very confident it will actually fly again. Very nice foam-smithing TI!
