    DeHavilland Day

Beautiful this morning so took out my trusty Tiger Moth (to get the thumbs working after a long winter) and the Venom (to get in some jet flying in preparation for the A-10's arrival). These two aircraft were only 19 years apart in development (1931 & 1950)- incredible progress in such a short time!

Whenever I get access to a paved runway I have a DeHavilland day too! I fly my Vampire off short grass but so far the SeaVixen is paved only. I almost bought a Venom but decided on a F-104 instead.

Ice worked great this winter as a runway.

Ha! Way to go Pete. It's too bad it has to be cold for ice, huh? Actually, I bungee launch the Venom at our field (a sod farm)- the grass is never short and very lush.
