  • Freewing F18 90mm edf V2 retracts in V1?

It took me 16 months (order #359 - way back when MRC was a little lad) before I maidened it today.

Sadly, on the 6th flight the left strut magically decided to fly off to never never land (didn't check the strut screw I guess).

Do V2 retracts fit? I heard they are sturdier.

    Voxel,
You may have already found an answer by now, but in case you didn't:

The V2 Eurofighter used trailing link struts (which compress down and rearwards). The V2 Eurofighter now uses Oleo struts (which compress straight down, only). The V1 strut will not fit the existing wheel wells for the V2, and the V2's doors may get in the way, as well. You'd need to remove some foam from the rear part of the wheel well. But be careful not to shift your rotation point to far aft, otherwise the aircraft will leap into the air suddenly, which is a telltale sign that an aircraft's main wheels are too far behind the aircraft's CG.
