  • Freewing A10 landing gear change

Wondering if anybody has changed out the lg...particularly the nose gear with oleo/trailing link? That stiff-legged front strut is begging to be bent or broken.

Re: Freewing A10 landing gear change

    Greetings Alan,

    Funny you should ask.......

I got caught by a sudden crosswind last weekend which caused my A-10 to land about 3 feet off our paved runway and into our clumpy desert grass and needless to say it bent the front nose gear back exactly as you said/expected.

I can't speak to the replacement process because no one has any front nose gear assemblies in stock, unless you want to buy the complete 3 piece gear replacement package just to get the front gear.

So, I might just have to go that route if I want to get the A-10 back in the air without waiting who knows how long until the single front nose gear assemblies are available again.

    More to come......

Thanks...good luck with getting her back in the air soon! Somebody will have=
a solution for this. I might even consider the $51 set from Hobby King if I=
knew for sure that it would fit and work.=20

Re: Freewing A10 landing gear change

        Greetings Alan,

Luckily, if you elect to go that route, MRC has the complete 3 gear set in stock at $48 and change.
I figured it couldn't hurt at all to at least have the main gear replacements on hand just in case.

Also, to be on the extra safe side I picked the complete plastic replacement parts package for $8.00.

        We'll see how this goes.....
