I see almost all posts are about the 6S high performance version. Anyone have experience on 4S? Given that some of the smaller EDFs by Freewing fly 4 cell, I have a good supply of them. So I was thinking of adding this bird, but the 4S version.
I'm concerned that going 4S on the V2 F-16 would leave it underpowered. Am I wrong?

Hi Boots, Adding washout to the wing itself *could* be done, but having designed this aircraft, I would personally recommend that you don't. If you're after the visual appeal of the downward angled pylons, I would recommend removing and regluing the pylons at the scale angle of incidence. This would achieve the visual scale effect on the ground and when flying by to a lesser degree. With a plane this small, and moving this quickly, your eye won't perceive the "twist" in the wing itself (partly because the thickness of the foam trailing edge is greater than the total twist's change over the wingspan's distance) and you'd be changing how the model was already designed to fly. Which, by many accounts, is really nicely. 'Not that I"m biased. Ha! :D
Alpha it's just an observation, I've seen first hand both the benefits and the down side of washout. I've seen it tame squirrelly flight characteristics, like some have described in the squawk. If you want to do a lot of low inverted passes down the field you don't want it. It's a trade off. Kudos on your design, I absolutely love it and can't wait to be up to speed to fly it!
Eesh... What are you flying off of man? Gravel? How many flights were on that fan?
That isn't from me flying off of bad runways... look at the outside of the housing. It was just a really bad mold. It crumbled when it was touched. It should never be that brittle.
I've got the plane put together and rigged. I'll take it out to Apollo field on saturday to maiden it. I'll see if I can talk someone into taking iPhone video of it. I haven't put on the decals yet. I may go ahead and paint it. Who knows. First I want to tune it up and see how it goes.

That's crazy... I know these FW fans were cheaply made due to the price, but the FMS fans seem to have a MUCH better molding process etc.

Wow...
It has been taken out and I am now using a 14 blade.... better sound and better punch too!! It used more battery power but at least I am having more fun!!

Nice! Yeah, I'm loving the 13 blade setup. You guys called it! : )
