RE: Dynam Focke Wulf

Greetings H64,

The 190 is an awesome airplane.
The only thing I have noticed on the ones I have (Dynam, Parkzone, etc.) is that they all require a bit of constant down elevator trim.
I would also fly on low rates until you get a feel for this bird as it has very sensitive control services (stock).

If you go for it, I'll look forward to your thoughts.

RE: Dynam Focke Wulf

Thanks Rktr . Seems like I'm looking into planes that I have a battery surplus with now . Guess that's normal by this time into the hobby . I figure if I don't need to buy batteries it's must easier to justify the purchase so to say .
I'm also looking at the 1120 mm Freewing version . Then there's the Turbo Jet included in the mix also . The really great part is come February it's my birthday time so I'll have to choose again ! Geeze it's ruff !!! Lol

Hey H64,

I don't have the Dynam Focke Wulf, but I do have the Flyzone and the Parkzone FW-190s. I am waiting on weather to maiden the FZ version, but it looks nice, and everything checked out well so far. The only real negative I have read about it is that it seems to have weak landing gear. Guess I'll find out soon. Since I fly on grass, I might take off with the gear, and just belly land, but like I said, I haven't flown it yet, so I can't speak to its landing characteristics. The Parkzone FW does fly quite well. I have not installed the optional retracts on it. It has good power, and not difficult to fly at all. I watched your video of the Texan, so you shouldn't have any problem with any of these planes. Good luck!!

Greetings Guy's,

Well since we're no longer an MRC forum perse' I don't mind telling you that if your in the market for a Focke Wolf 190, you might check the offering from Hobby King. I have this one as well as the Parkzone and Dynam 190's and I think (although it's most similar to the Parkzone) it is by far a nicer version with retracs, lights and flaps stock. The cowling is very nice heavy plastic as well.

Thanks Rocketeer,

Are you able to get to the HK website with no problems? I can get there, but it will only show the Global Warehouse, and everything is in $HKD. There used to be a drop down list to choose your warehouse, but it seems to not be working any longer. If they can get it fixed, I will check that one out.

I also just left a rather long post on the F9F forum regarding, among other maiden flights, my experience with the MIG-15 today. Let me just say, I understand your pain!!!

Greetings Guy's

Here's the link to the Hobby King Focke Wulf 190.
Shows that there is stock in both the East and West USA wearhouses.

I really like the version but check it out and see what you think.

Very nice, I like it. The paint scheme is very much like my Flyzone, but like you said, the HK version has servoless retracts, and separate servos for flaps and ailerons. Hmmmmm, do I need another FW-190??? :-)

Greetings H64,

Indeed!

With Retracts, Split Flaps, Lights and Sequenced Gear Doors as Standard and ALL for $160 it's an awesome plane.
The pictures and video really do not do it justice.

Rocketeer-that was a BAD thing to show me that FW190!! I really like it, and will probably end up ordering it this weekend if I don't go too nuts on the Black Friday sales. Have you flown yours at all? Seems like a great deal, with shipping, still under 180.00. Heck, I've spent nearly that much on some of the smaller HH planes. This must be a new offering, I don't see any reviews for it. Do you know who makes it for them? I ask since sometimes HK is pretty limited on parts for these planes. Still, a great looking FW!!!

It's manufactured by Top RC and distributed through Hobby King and others.

You can google Top RC FW 190 and the will lead you to its reviews on RC Forums

Thanks Rocketeer! I appreciate the information. I did find a few videos of it on line, and it looks really good. I particularly like the non scale grass friendly gear! Yep, this  one is going on the "get it" list.

RE: Dynam Focke Wulf

H64, sorry for a late response on your original post. I have the Dynam FW190 and I had the Flyzone FW190. Lets me start with the Flyzone FW190
Cons:
The gear is weak. Mine folded on first landing. Plus they are sloppy.Turned mine into belly lander. Not sure about on grass but hard landing on packed dirt was not pretty.
She likes to fly nose heavy. Has a bad Tip Stall issue at slow speeds and on slow take offs. Nose strike or tip over can bend motor mount but bends back easily.
Pros:
I found CG better on 3s 2200 than 1800 but fit is tight. Flaps work okay but need to be adjusted to reduce slop. Quick for a 3Cell but no speed demon. Prop fan is functional so great cooling. Has a great glide path so flaps are not even needed all the time. Flys like she's a much bigger plane but not heavy.
Dynam FW190
Cons:
No flaps but easily added. Motor mount is weak. Glue directly to foam can't take to many ground strike. Battery hatch comes off very easy in flight. Needs more magnets. No functional prop fan. Tail assembly is weak.
Pros:
She is Fast. One of Dynam's fastest models. Best CG on 4s 3300 40c. She's big enough to cut the wind but does not fly heavy. Much thicker form that Flyzone or Parkzone models. Better landing gear than Flyzone but will bend not break on hard landings but all Dynam's do that. More speed can be obtain by just going to a 2 blade prop. Can be hand-launched with no issues.

If I was grading i wuld give the FlyZone a 7 or of 10 and the Dynam a 8.5-9 out of 10.
........And I\'m \"5 by 5\"........

RE: Dynam Focke Wulf

You mentioned the Freewing 190. I have it and the Flyzone 190. In the air, the Flyzone seems much more forgiving and is plenty quick. As noted earlier, the landing gear can't take much side force on landing.

In the air the Freewing needs conservative throw on the elevator but handles well. Seems more aggressive(almost twitchy, I added more expo). But it RULES on tight cut grass. I literally can race mine all over the runway without nosing over. Accidentally took off when trying to see how fast and far I could taxi.  :D It handles grass better than my FMS 1400mm Zero with rake mod.

The battery compartment is a little cramped in the Freewing, and the landing gear likes to "sag". I've got magnets in mine to help hold em tight in flight. The plane doesn't come with flaps, but I modded mine to have them. Lands great with them. I've flown mine in 15-20mph winds and although it got tossed around during gusts, I'm able to get it up and down in one piece. I like it. It's my warm up plane when I go out. Seems much more durable than the Flyzone model, which I used for dogfighting.

Hope this helps.

Mike

RE: Dynam Focke Wulf

I have to say that having the Dynam and flown it a few to ten times , I really like it . It's a must to trim the gear skirts to help keep them out of the dirt . I kept having trouble with nose overs . No damage just right on over , some on the beginning of a take off roll or at the end of a landing .

Finding that to CG it the battery needs to be against the nose , all the way up . Well I moved it back and still flew great no tail heaviness at all and no nose overs !! Hoping to get out tomorrow if I do I may move it back just a bit more .

The plane flies great and handles nice ,really glad I got it . Can't compare it to the Freewing there is 6 inches more wing on the Dynam and it shows while flying .

Thanks to all who gave me their input on this plane , it's always good to go to the Authorities for info !!!!!!
