P-51 - Other Nations livery

I am surprised to see so many FMS P-51 models in so many paint schemes, although all of the paint schemes you have offered so far are all American paint schemes.

I wonder how many readers know that the P-51 was originally designed and manufactured for the Royal Air Force. 

The Royal Air force were the first to use the spitfires, and after delivery of the first batch upgraded the motors from the Allison motors as built to the RollsRoyce Merlin engines which made the Spitfires into superb high altitude fighters equal to the best German fighters of the day.

A a few of these planes being made for the RAF were diverted to the US was department for testing to see if they were of adequate capability for use by the US, 

In addition to the Royal Air Force squadrons there were five Canadian squadrons equipped with P-51's as well. In addition there were Free French and three Austrialian squadrons as well in addition to the US planes during WWII.

And, just to add to Don's comments, most of the surviving Mustangs are from the RCAF as it was known then, I remember seeing a picture of them lined up on the runway, each for sale at around $60,000, tried to convince my dad, probably up in Heaven kicking himself over that one.

There is another color scheme on the horizon but it is another US color scheme. However, I'm certain you guys are going to love this one.

I wonder if they'd put out one that was in factory silver and give us a choice of decals?
