    Transporting idea

Here is a little something I came up with to place in back of my truck . I use small bungee chords to hold them to the racks . Place a few shop towels between chords and planes and away I go . Rides great and with them being different heights if need to I can slide a wing under the other for room .

    RE: Transporting idea

I like that idea, right now I've rigged up some ply wood and a towel with some bungee's in the back of my truck. Though the next 5 planes I plan on getting are all going to be 1400mm so no matter what I do I think I'm going to be limited to 2 planes at a time. But I think I'll try and cook up a similar PVC set up and try and stack planes, seems to be the best way.

As you can see, I made some transporters out of some spare soft Styrofoam that I got from work.  That's them on the left (left one for the Pandoras and the right one for ol weedwacker), they work pretty well for the pandoras and weedwacker, but I like the idea of pvc carriers for the Mustangs, especially if I could carry two, one stack on top of the other.

Here's the holder I made to use in the back of my vehicle.  It will hold either my 1100 or 1400 Mustangs. I'm able to hall my 4 planes in the back of my Traverse no problems.(2-1400mm and 2-1100mm)

Dang Lon, just looking at that picture gives me goose pimples!!
I sure like the look of the Freewing pilot better than the FMS!
Now, you just need to throw in a P51B for good measure, you HAVE to have the lineage!  Right?

                G56,

I think your on to me.  YES, the P-51B is at the top of the list for next plane.

Meant to share this, here's my less than glorious setup for getting the FW out and about, certainly not pretty but its functional and solid. Doesn't move a bit in the back of the truck, plywood, eye hooks, cargo straps and bungee's is all I need! lol

Mine are pretty similar.  I scored some old foam from some of the packages that come in to work .  A little cut here, a little addition there and there she is.  The wife had a big crochet hook that she ran some shoe lace-like cord through and I just tie them to either side of the truck, through the loops.  Works great!
