  • Flyzone Select Scale Zero Has Landed!!

    Greetings Gang,

The Flyzone Select Scale Zero has arrived and it's a beauty!!

I had to acquire this from my LHS because for some reason MRC has provided no indication of their intention to carry this warbird.
That's OK, I have one now.

Below is a quick shot of an even quicker dry-fit of the main components.
All of the control horns, and push-rods for both the ailerons and flaps come pre-installed an well as the electric retracts and bomb drop release servo.
    Sweet!!

Can't wait to get this in the air and go head-to-head with the Corsair...........

Wow! That is a nice looking Zero, but I am more impressed with your work shop! Very nice, lots of cabinets, drawers, etc. to store stuff. That is a great place to house the planes, work on them, and keep everything in one place. When I build my shop later this year, I might have to steal some of your ideas!!

Yeah he keeps them at school, more security so Me and Bryan can't raid the place.  I shudder to think how many you have now.  What radio are you using?  Multiple radios??

I'm starting to hear the theme song from Mission Impossible playing through my mind!!!!

Very nice! I am anxious to hear the flight report on this one, and all those others you have been working on lately. Like that sweet C-47, and the Dynam Turbo Jet.

yeah I hear you, more like, 'feel the lead!'
What's the wingspan on her Bill?
By the way, I never did see any pics on the Dynam Waco, how about posting some, maybe one of both Wacos side by side so we can see the scale difference?
                        Please!!!

                          Greetings Guys,

All of my rounds are lead free and environmentally safe.......... but, still hazardous to humans.......

Hey, if I ended up shooting you guy's, who would I chat with?   :)

The wing span on the Zero is 45".

In the photo above, the Dynam Waco is sitting just behind the Zero to the right.
I'll do a side-by-side for you though for comparison.

                          Have a great weekend!

I was waiting for this plane for quite some time now, however I bought the FMS tan Zero instead after it went on sale a few weeks ago. I do not like the proportions of the Flyzone Zero compared to the FMS. For one thing, the front landing gear is too small and looks kind of weird. I'll stick with the FMS!

                                Greetings G56,

Yeah, the two Waco's are really alike in appearance and it's tough to relate to the scale difference in that photo other than maybe the size comparison to the 80mm F-86 behind it. When I get back to school tomorrow I'll do the side-by-side as promised just to show the size differential.

Hope you're enjoying a great weekend.

Great, thanks!  As for the FMS Zero, I saw that Pilot Ran has a video for a landing gear mod, you guys should check it out as it gives you more forward rake and lessening the chance of nose overs

As promised, below are a couple of shots I took with my phone.
It should give you at least somewhat of a comparison.
A little tough to tell form these shots though.

                                    I hope this helps,

                                      Thanks Rocketeer,

Those pictures do a good job of showing the size differences between the two Wacos. Both look great too. Any preferences on which one you like to fly more?

Looks like an impressive fleet there too. What is that German wing in the background? Looks like an interesting flyer for sure.
