  • FMS 1400 T-28 (V4 with Oleo struts ??)

    Hello Motion,

In my quest to upgrade the gear on my bird, I ran across a couple blurbs about this on a RCGroups thread about a version 4 with oleo struts that are backwards compatible to V3.
    http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...56951&page=560
The dude from Diamond Hobby who was putting this info out there was indicating that this release would occur the end Feb/early Mar 2015. Is this true? and will you guys be getting the upgraded oleo struts as part replacements?
    Regards,
    Warbird Charlie

    RE: FMS 1400 T-28 (V4 with Oleo struts ??)

    Greetings OV10,

I have not heard of this V4 T-28 but, if the new struts are a drop in for the older version, I will be going for it.
If there is anything this causes hesitation in flying this big T-28 it's the current stock landing gear!!

    Thanks,

      RE: FMS 1400 T-28 (V4 with Oleo struts ??)

I placed our latest order with FMS yesterday and the 1400mm T-28 was one of the items on our order. Nothing was mentioned to me about an upgraded version. We've been asking for oleo struts on the Corsair and T-28 for well over a year. I assume it will happen at some point but there is no firm date which means it could be a year or possibly never. I've seen well over 50% of the "coming soon" products from various manufacturers have a "false start" and never come to reality so we make it a policy to only talk about real products which are known to have shipped or are about to ship. We make a few rare exceptions when we know a new product is currently in the final manufacturing stage. I know people become frustrated when new products are promised only to realize they are "vaporware". Ideally, we like to make sure a project has come to fruition before making any announcements. Sorry - "old guy" life lesson ahead - Sometimes in life one becomes too eager to share secrets or prove they are "in the know" and this more often than not will lead to disappointment. We don't ever want to disappoint our customers.

        Greetings Tom,

        Thanks for the update.

I am all about avoiding dissapointment.
While the thought of the upgrade that was reported was both welcomed and exciting it is refreshing that you guys are willing to let us know what's really going on.

That's what makes MRC so awesome and the rest, well........... the rest.

        Clear skies

          Hello Motion Tom,
Thanx for the real picture feedback. As Bill just said, your guys' honesty to your customers makes ya who you are - the best. It is a little disappointing, but all I can hope for is that ya'll ratchet up the pressure on FMS about the oleo strut upgrades for the 1400 T-28 and F4U. Hell.....might just as well add the F6F and P-40 to mix too since their gear is like the Corsair.
          Best Regards,

Unfortunately, FMS has discontinued the 1400mm P-40 and 1400mm F6F so they will not be upgraded.

We've already moved the F6F to our "discontinued...spare parts available" tab on our site: http://www.motionrc.com/products.php?product=FMS-F6F-Hellcat-Blue-1400mm-%2855%22%29-Wingspan-%252d-PNP

We have a few 1400mm P-40 left in stock and then they are gone.

Bummer on the F6F and P-40. Glad I snagged them from Motion this past fall. Just hope I don't have a chemo brain event which causes pilot error whereas I might require some replacement airframe parts. That is the main reason I became a balsa to foam convert, easier plane salvage/restoration !!
              Oh well.......

MY, My the "discontinued" list almost rivals you main catalog in numbers!!
                Lot's of stuff going away.

Must have just missed the Hellcat as it shows out of stock........

Since the FMS F6F is being discontinued, will you guys be adding the Dynam F6F to your site?
