Im checking to see if anyone happens to have this plane and what they think of their flight characteristics. I got one that i havnt flown yet due to me having not flown in along time. Kinda scared to crash it on first flight... thanks for your opinions.

Hello Skippy,
You probably ought to fix the posting title to reflect that the aircraft is an FMS or an Airfield so that people can help you. Am pretty sure that Dynam doesn't make a 800mm Corsair, only a 1270mm(50").

Greetings Skippy,

First off, I have to agree with OV10 and recommend that you edit your posting title.

Now, I have the FMS 800mm Corsair and I really enjoy it.
The Corsair, like most of the 800mm FMS Warbird series, is a bit skiddish on the CG.
Just take your time to get the CG where it belongs and you with like flying this plane.

It doesn't matter if you fly with or without the drop tanks. It flies well either way.
Keep in mind that this is a short wingspan aircraft and it will be twitchy on the control surfaces at 100%.
If your transmitter has the capability, you might set your low rates to maybe 40% on the ailerons at first and perhaps 60% elevator with 20-30% expo on both.
This will give you much more control during the early flights and take away some of the quick short wingspan movements. 

Over coming the maiden flight "pucker-factor" is the hardest part.

Been flying the Apprentice for a while and am thinking of moving up to my second plane. The Corsair and Trojan have been recommended as good choices. Any thoughts as to which would be easier to move up to?

DITTO on what Rocketeer said about the CG being "skiddish". I have the Airfield 800mm corsair and the CG needs to be spot on. And don't even try checking it with your fingers, cuz if you do, you might as well plug in the hot melt glue gun when you go fly it, because your going to need it when you get back.

Welcome to the forum. Moving from a high wing trainer to a warbird doesn't have to be a daunting experience as long as you "walk before ya run". As an instructor and VP at my club, I have moved more pilots onto the Park Zone 1100mm T-28 with great success because they are not intimidated by this good natured flier. The price is also a friendly route for novice warbird pilots by still using 3S power before moving up to the FMS 1400 sized 4S powered aircraft. There is a reason the military used this airframe as a trainer because of the great handling characteristics. This PZ T-28 is also capable of modest stunting. I still have one of them in my rather large warbird fleet with floats on it and still go bore holes in the clouds when I want to experience the water or snow venues. Good luck on your move up.
