Where did you get the aluminum tubing ?
Bryan
I got the tubing at my LHS I think I paid like 5 bucks for it.
I dont know about the nose gear on the newer versions of the 182, but the gear on the V1 182 was horrible. I have the how to video on replacing the nose gear as well, If needed or wanted. And hours of repair videos. lol

Not without re doing everything. Once the wheel spats are off you'll see that the bend in the strut does not allow it. If it were just a matter of enlarging the wheel opening I would have done it.Originally posted by dlf5126how do i or can i put a larger wheel on the front? thanks

RE: 182 1450 trainer
The Sky Trainer is a very easy plane to fly. Would I call it a beginner plane? NO, I would not use this plane to learn on. I started with a HobbyZone champ; flew that until I felt comfortable with it, and logged about 100 hours on a simulator (I used clearview sim) before I flew my 182 for the first time. Even then I had a friend take her up for her maiden get her trimmed out, then I took over the sticks (he landed it for me as well the first flight). The Sky Trainer is a great intermediate skill level plane to fly, she helps build lots of confidence and soon you will try to make the plane do things it is not designed for (advanced aerobatics). Expect to crash, I have crashed my 182 more times than I wish to admit. With some imagination and a lot of trial and error I was able to repair her after every crash. The best advice I can give to a new pilot is always fly high enough that you can make at least 2 mistakes before you hit the ground. Never fly over your head and try to keep the plane in front of you. If you are looking for a good beginner plane try the HobbyZone champ it can be had for around $90.00 USD., another good beginner plane is the HobbyZone Sport Cub it can be had for around $130.00 USD., and A lot of people learn to fly using HobbyZone Super Cub that can be had for about $170.00 USD.. What ever you decide, good luck!

Here is the maiden of my 182, sorry for the poor video quality.

RE: 182 1450 trainer
Does anyone have some tips for replacing the motor board? I have the V2 btw not that it seems to make any difference. It keeps cracking around the gear mount and I keep gluing it. Got a replacement board but I have no idea how to get the old one out without some serious surgery. Any ideas? Is there a way to dissolve or loosen the glue bond so that I can just pull it out?
