  • My humble collection...part of it!

Here is part (the assembled part) of my current collection.  My lovely wife allows me to hang some of my planes in our entryway.  What a nice thing for her to let me do.....that's why I can't be too bad all the time!  Anyway, on the wall, top left, is my old, but still fun to fly Supercub that I added ailerons and flaps, and brushless power to a long time ago.  Below that is my new RocHobby Waco that has only been on it's maiden several months ago.  I loved it.  Next to that is my Flyzone Beaver that I put MrRCSound into.  Again, only been flown twice before winter kicked in, but it sounds cool!  Above that is my Hacker Ultimate Biplane.  Made of EPP foam and a BLAST to fly.  Next to that up top is my Hacker Katana, also EPP, and which because of a brownout, was almost totally destroyed.  Put it back together and it's as good as new....although with a Spektrum receiver now, not the OTHER cheaper one!  Below that is the latest plane I just finished, the Freewing CTLS.  I just liked the looks of this little bird, bought it scratch and dent, and I did some mods to the front end to beef it up.  She has not been up yet.
My upstairs modest hobby room/computer/TV room is where the pride of my fleet so far is hanging over the window...the FMS Zero.  Hasn't been flown yet, but ready to go.  Also you can see my Calypso glider on the wall, a Tower Hobbies F4U Corsair hanging from the ceiling.  I really do NOT like this plane as it has no tail wheel steering and is a handful on the ground.  Going to be getting rid of that one!  You can see the construction area of the Freewing P-51 on the tables. I also have hanging next to the TV a Hacker Extra profile...love it, again EPP.
What you can't see in the back room closet is a Freewing Mosquito and E-Flight Cub still in their boxes.  I do have a soft spot for biplanes so the Dynam Tiger Moth will be next when it becomes available.

Very nice collection there Retiredflyer. I like your idea of hanging planes in the entry way, our house has an almost identical entryway, maybe if I show my wife your set up, she will allow me to do that too!! :D

WOW!!!! That is an awesome display of models you have. You should look into opening up a RC Aviation Museum!!!

Nice! I wish I could find that CTLS available somewhere. Motion doesn't want to carry it because of the brittle nose gear. How do you like it?

I haven't flown the CTLS yet, it was a winter build project. I have the mods I did posted under CTLS MAKEOVER in this hanger section. Motion had it available until just a few days ago, but you are right, now I see that it isn't. I hope she flys, and LANDS OK!  Well let you know.

They haven't had the CTLS for some time from what I have been checking every week. I even messaged them over a week ago and asked when they were getting any in. They eluded to the nose being too unreliable... And that they had discontinued it...

Is this incorrect? When did you get yours? I have wanted one for months...

I'm sorry, I guess I was incorrect. I was sure I had seen it available just a few days ago.I got my CTLS as a scratch and dent at MOTION about 2 months ago. It would come and go weekly. Finally when it came back one time I decided to get it. I even bought a second front wheel assembly. I just surfed around a few minutes ago and the only place I could find it was eBay for $198 with free shipping.

Very nice! My wife is a sweetheart when it comes to all my planes, but, hanging so much as one in the house is where she draws the line. I'd love to hang just one of my scale antique planes (Tiger Moth or Ryan ST), but, no deal. Doc

I think my wife just gave up when she saw how many planes were collecting. I think I will change out some of the wall ones to have the new Zero and Mustang there. I can sit on my living room couch and look at them all the time that way.

Well, as with 4 of my other "winter" projects, I haven't flown it yet.  It is still WAY too cold for me to go out.  Pretty soon though, a few more weeks and it looks like we will start to warm up.
I will let everyone know how I like my Zero, the "Iron Ass", the CTLS, and the Tiger Moth (now in constructions phase) as soon as I can fly.  I have a LOT of new toys to try out!!!!

What an awesome system you've used! What is that system! And where did you get it? I've run out of space for stacking, but have wall space. Trying to figure something out.
