FMS EXTRA 300 CG QUESTION

Hi,

With the FMS Extra 300 I am using a 2650mah 4S lipo and positioning it all the way to the rear of the battery tray. The plane CG measures at least 1/2 inch nose heavy from the FMS manual recommended CG mark.

Can anyone who owns his plane comment on their CG measurement along with what size lipos they used?

I'd say you'll be fine. I have flown this plane with our 2500, 3000 and 3600 4s batts. All of which I put aft in the battery compartment. This plane seems to act kind of tailheavy with power off. Flies just fine with all of the above mentioned packs. I will say that you may want to be prepared for a nose up situation when you get out of the power on approach.

My recommendation is to fly your pack all the way forward for your maiden because noseheavy is always easier to deal with than tailheavy.

Visit our Youtube channel and you can see how it behaves. We flew it very scale and at low rate for the first half of the vid and then hit high rates for the latter portion of the vid.
