  • HobbtTown USA Ares P-51

Does anyone know anything about the Ares (HobbyTown USA brand)  P-51? The RTF retails for $189.00.

    RE: HobbtTown USA Ares P-51

I have one of these P-51s. It is approximately an 800mm size, and flies on a small 3 cell battery. I use the admiral 600 3S with a JST connector. The plane flies well, and has good power with the 2 blade prop. The plane comes with both a 2 blade and 4 blade prop, but the 2 blade is faster. It is stable in the air, and fun to fly, but because of the small battery size, flight times are only 3-5 minutes, with 3 being more the case if you fly with a lot of throttle. Also, the battery access hatch can be a bit fiddly when it comes time to get the battery back out of the plane. Overall, it is a nice plane, but unless you need a complete system, I would go for the receiver ready version. My experience with Ares radios is that they seem to have a good bit more lag time than my Spektrum radios.
