Thanks Sean! It was nice to finally get outside and play some that's for sure! The circling dogfight was kind of cool. :-)

Thanks Bill! It was cold, and a bit windy, but it sure beats another day of staring at walls in my apartment. :)

Hey RT! Not that day nope.... The P-51 is pretty new so it's kind of exciting still (LOL) and my friend Shane has my Y6 over at his house trying to devise a hook for it to try and get a plane of his out of a high tree. It's been in the tree since last November! I thought about taking my 450 Flamewheel but the FPV stuff is on the Y6 at the moment so I left it behind. You might like this vid tho..... It's my Y6 last summer taking a lap around a lake... The gains were too low on yaw so I apologize for that. Fixed now.... :)

                Hi Flygirl

Cool pics and video! Do you use a head set to fly that?

Hi Cap'n! Yep I did use goggles on that one. Had a 600mw ImmersionRC VTx onboard the Y6 and FatShark Attitude goggles. :-)

                  Thanks!

                    Hi Flygirl,

Very nice video! I've been thinking about getting a bigger quad for aerial photography like that. That looks like a great spot for a seaplane to fly too. If I had a lake front like that at my disposal, I would definitely be giving my float planes a good workout! Enjoy the flying!

Hi Loneflier! You're right that the lake would be a good place for a float plane... Got any suggestions for a good one? And thanks for the nice words! It's a lot of fun to make videos so I can understand you wanting one that can carry a good camera. That raw footage of the lake lap was used with a bunch of other footage to make a video for the lake residents. It's kind of a unique place in that most of the cottage owners, including us, have been owners for generations so I wanted to make something that sort of summed up the lake experience. This is what I came up with....

                          Hi Lauren(Flygirl),
That lake footage looks familiar, just not quite sure because am not used to seeing it from that perspective because my views were always from behind the bars of a Harley. This Highland Lake wouldn't happen to be located near Warren Township in Bradford County PA ??

Hi, Flygirl. DANG! You're good! Very professional. If you want a float plane, go with the Fly Zone Beaver. Water T&L's are a blast with this plane. Easy to fly? Oh, yeah! Even in a 15 MPH wind! I love mine. Doc

Thank you very much Doc! I have been looking at the RxR version but I wasn't sure if it was a good plane or not... Maybe I can get one because it would be perfect for evening flights. The wind drops at the lake and it becomes mirror smooth as you can see in the video. It would be perfect!

                                Hi Flygirl,

I would not hesitate to recommend the Flyzone Tidewater, or the Horizon Hobby Icon A5 UMX. The Icon is a small plane, but with AS3X, it is a great flying plane, uses a small 2 cell battery, and does really well off water. Especially with no wind and smooth water. The Tidewater will handle a bit more wind, and is also easy to fly. Just watch the aileron settings, they are touchy if you dial in too much. Another fun one on the water is the Dynam PBY Catalina. Very stable, easy to fly, and looks great. The flying boat style is a bit more stable on take offs and landings than pontoons, since you are not nearly as likely to tip over on landings.

As for the Beaver, I can't say. I have the plane, but have not built it yet. You certainly have plenty of room there to fly it though, and all the reviews for it look really good.

                                Happy Easter to you guys!

Okay Rich and Doc! You've convinced me! LOL! Leave It To Beaver it is! I did a lot of YouTube watching and it looks fun. A long time ago, back in the 80's, I had a float plane, .40 size if I recall, that I flew there once. The problem with it was, being nitro powered, that it was loud and that place is so peaceful it was kind of annoying so an electric would be great. Thanks again guys!

+1 on the flyzone beaver. AMAZING PLANE! very versitile, well priced and it comes with both traditional landing gear & floats!

I've got some videos on my YouTube channel with mine. Haven't taken it to the lake yet, but I can't talk enough good about it... GET IT, you will love it!

As for your Y6, looks good!! don't think I'm brave enough yet to fly mine over water :P I took mine out to the club field this Saturday to get some flights in... but I forgot my headset battery so I couldn't do FPV :( I'll be posting the videos later today though... really like the tarot gimbal... seems to do well stabilizing and smoothing out the video. think I do need to get a longer FPV cable though, might be limiting the travel some.

Hey RT! It is a Hobbyking Scorpion.... Probably not the best airframe but it does look badass... LOL! I have the the same motors as you do and I love them. Never had an ounce of problems. Looks like we are using the same props as well. The whole set up has been the most trouble free aircraft that I have built and is by far the best I've flown for aerial photography and videos. It's just so rock steady when paired with the Tarot and besides, don't ya just love the whoosh the Y6 makes lifting off? LOL!! What battery are you flying? I've been using 4s 5000mah in mine...

I'm convinced on the Beaver...! Now all I have to do is turn 65 (end of May) and get rid of this ginormous health insurance premium Blue Cross is charging me and get on the Medicare payments. That is going to be a big raise in my take home and will easily allow me to buy one! Thanks Mate!
