  • FMS EXTRA 300 on 5S?

    Hi,

I fly the FMS EXTRA 300 on 4S 40C.   Plane appears to fly rather lazy compared to say a Dynam Peaks.  Anybody have success with repeated flights on the FMS EXTRA 300 using a 5S lipo instead? Will the stock Motor/ESC safely handle it?

    Thanks,
    Ken

    Hello Ken,
I am having the same problem. Did you find out regarding the 5S Set-up? Maybe you have the solution by now, if the motor can stand 5S and a recommendation regarding prop size etc.
    Thanks,
    Roland

RE: FMS EXTRA 300 on 5S?

      Hi,

The motor and ESC specs appear to be rated for 4S,  so I have been reluctant to try 5S.   I met someone that has the FMS Sbach and that was one of the first questions they asked me.  So there appears to be a bit of a a consensus as to the planes stock power output.  Maybe one of the guys at Motion RC would be willing to try a few flights on 5S, as they have no shortage of spare parts ......in the event of of blue smoke or worse.

      Thanks,
      Ken

It's been my experience that once you bust the smoke bag on electronics you can put it back. I do by fly 3d but my question is how would the extra weight affect the flight performance?
