Hey Alpha is that you in the F-14 pic. I've been wanting to do the 80mm F-5 in that paint scheme, how did you do it. Did you just start with your color base cost and just panel it out with post a notes for the other colors..

Thank you for your help on the low tac paper mask. You saved me so much stress.

I can't believe I finished the hard part in one night. Not because it is easy, but I chose to do the scalps because it was hard. I'm using the Blue Angels wings as a mockup till I do the TB wings.

It's easy to work with and I'd suggest some testing on some scrap parts till ya get the hang of it.

I really do appreciate everybody's help and ideas on this because this was bugging me as to how I was going to get around some of these tight Parts because there's some chrome paint that has to go on also

Clear low-tac paper is a great recommendation, Mike! I've used regular Dollar Store Post-Its with similar success. That's how I masked my F-14.

Try Clear low tack self paper ( I get it at Wally World ). That's how I masked my A-10

Made my own paint mask for the nose and rudder. Forgot to take pictures of rudder before the paint went on.

I really liked the down draft from the fan when paint the nose and elevators. That was so cool , that I'm gonna have to make a table with the fans pointing down in it.

I really like where this white one is going! Curious if you weighed them before and after paint?

Sorry, no I did not weigh them before starting.
No primer coat this time.
Used the spray on Minwax and not the brush on Minwax.
Lots of wet sanding between coats.

Less paint sprayed on rear and bottom of the elevators, wings and the bottom of the plane ,lessons learned from the Blue Angels plane.

If you remember from my flight video of the Blue Angels, I didn't notice any performance difference in flight after painting, just the CG moved from my normal spot. Had to move the battery forward.
