  • Spit 1600 retract struts

    Hi Guys,
received my 1600 Spitfire and it is a beauty. For the most photographed plane in the world there are startlingly few accurate models, well done. One confusing aspect though is the retract struts: the oleo should face backwards so I swapped them over (minus gear doors) and they work far better the right way round. Only problem is that you can refit the doors but can't have them close flush with the wing this way round. Is there any reason why they're installed this way and could it be corrected?

Hello Biggles and welcome to the Squawk,
What are you referring to in the bold portion above? Is this in reference to the scissor link on the oleo??
The model has the scissor on the front side which is correct.

Here's the real deal with scissor facing forward.

I stand corrected. My apologies. One more thing: is there any chance of a matching Hawker Hurricane?
