I saw Ryan's review of the new p47 today and was wondering his thoughts on how the performance compared to the old parkzone version.

I'll let Ryan come along and post. I've not had a chance to fly the new one yet.....
However, I know the airframe is the same and the motor and ESC are also the same as the Parkzone P-47 so performance should be pretty much the same.

                Hey farmflyer,

Performance wise I'd say it's the same but better if that's even possible. The P47 is a great flying plane with or without as3x. It's just proportioned just right to make it have a great character throughout the flight envelope and on the ground. Of course the new one is easier to see and has the very good looking 4 blade prop with yellow tips to add to the scale fidelity. I feel there might be more thrust with the 4 blades which aid in pulling through manuevers. with that being said the top end speed seems the same. Again I' think the thrusty 4 blader may exhibit a little more left yaw because of this but nota deal breaker for sure. The wide stance allows it to take even jerky rudder corrections without tipping her and scuffing wing tips. You cannot go wrong with this bird either way. Whether it be pnp or bnf, this plane will make you feel like an ACE!

                regards
                Ryan

Thanks Ryan I'm going to get one anyway was curious what to expect. I'm glad to hear the performance is there with the 4 blade prop it really looks sweet. I love my original still fly it regularly. It was my second plane after my hz super cub quite a leap but worked out ok because the p47 is such a good flyer. I may have to order spare props to put on my old p47 and my Pz corsair.

Very cool! I enjoy flying everything but i got to tell you. This jug whether it be the Bull or the new one is a special flyer. I've flown a few planes now [understatement of the century] and I feel like the more planes I fly the more I realize how great this one is. The jug I call the Ace Maker. it really does build confidence. I always regretted " making room" and getting rid of my Snortin Bull, also wondered what was up their sleeve getting rid of what so many have deemed an excellent flyer. Now we know.

                    Regards,
                    Ryan

                      Greetings Ryan and All,

On the new P-47 I need to borrow an expression from Ryan himself........ "WOO-HOO"!!!

I was finally able to sneak between the rain drops and get this amazing airplane in the air.... WHAT???!!??
Are you kidding me on this thing??? Again, "WOO-HOO"!

I agree and I favor the 4-blade for its 'just enough' extra pull.

This is going to be a winner!

One arrived yesterday from a close and dear friend- my wife. I had been talking about how much I liked this plane. She had one sent to me. Talk about a surprise! Well I now have both, the P51 and P47. Have not unpacked yet. Love that lady!

Now that is one excellent lady!!!

Congratulations!!! It's a quick build at about 3-screws and like 4 pieces of tape.

Best of luck and let us know when you've had a chance to maiden her.

I agree with all that this is one great flying plane. Now, let me tell you what I did to make it even better: first, I replaced the 30 amp ESC with a 45 Gecko from MRC; and two, I fly with a 4-cell, 2200 battery. I fly with one-half throttle most of the time but have the additional power when I need it. I really think that most planes are generally under-powered today. I would do the same with the Mustang; however, the ESC is a little hard to get to for me. I am not sure the 45 Gecko will fit and there is no use just going to a 35 Gecko.
