Just put my PT-17 together...Wow! What a beauty. CG came in at exactly 85mm with the 3S 2200 stuffed all the way forward. Been rainy and windy here in Toledo but hope to Maiden her soon. Thanks everyone for a great thread and since this my first (maiden) post here at Squawk, I'm in awe at all the expertise folks here. Thanks again. I'll post progress as we go along.

At the hobby shop talking and I commented on the increase in speed on approach of othe PT17 STEARMAN. Gentlemen hit the nail on the head I think. I came from gas engines, where on idle prop acted as a shield/brake on approach. On electrics props just windmill FREELY when throttle comes back to idle. yEP IT picks up speed on approach unless you make a long final to bleed off speed prior to touchdown.

I started out with nothing, and still have most of it.  :)
