Eflite has a wood battery tray. I reallyliked the fms has to have a small block of foam removed to run bigger batteries and for cg. Easy to do though. Id buy the fms again its a good plane dont get me wrong

:D Hi Pilots After reading these post seems like the T-28 Trojan is very much in demand, I personally have the FMS 1400 and believe me this plane flies like it on rails I have a video on my YouTube channel showing the FMS taking off and landing on a grass field and it's been a trooper for 2 years now and I fly it every time I go to the field this thing is like a tank just keeps om ticking love this bird!!! As far as Eflite goes I have the P-51 Dallas Doll and again this plane just keeps on ticking so this is what I decided to do I will be purchasing the Eflite P-51 and the new T-28 this coming summer and I'm sure I'll love them both
Apparently, the new V4 is near. The first machine is going through customs in the 'States now.
I am looking forward to seeing the report and getting a good look at the model.
I have a V2 and a V3 with the V3 being custom painted into Navy Drone Control Colour scheme.
I have in mind to paint the V4 into a colour from Brazil. Yellow and green. It is startling to say the least and should attract attention at a flying field.
Regards and respect
Daryl
I have flown many of both the FMS 1400 and E flite 1.2m. BTW...FMS makes the 1.2m for Horizon.:shy: Both fly wonderfully. The advantage of the 1400 is it is a good bit more scale - gear doors, better struts (the V4 will have oleos), lights, more scale stance and outline. Its bigger and easier to see. The advantage of the 1.2 is its easier to transport in a smaller car, and less parts means less routine upkeep and maintenance. You truly can't go wrong with either.
Big time propeller head Love flying scale and 3D Currently building a GP SE5A
V4 should be here very soon. As Tom mentioned, there isn't a long list of changes, but enough apparently to warranty FMS' badging the aircraft as a V4.
On the V3 I shimmed the main landing gear plate's wingtip-facing side with a small washer to get the wheels to tuck up into the wing flush. Other than that the bird has been a solid performer. Really hard to find a T-28 which doesn't fly great in any size.

That's so true Alpha...every T-28 I have ever flown was one of the best flying...if not the best flying warbird in its size class I have ever flown. How soon on the V4 you think? Seems I heard Feb. somewhere...

diamond says march 1 on orders but that never seems to work out lol new one has the oleos of course and wood battery tray and 17g servos and the wing servos can be removed with two tiny screws....bigger motor and supposed to be lighter
The container is on the water so it won't be long. We're putting a page together with pre-order details and as close an ETA as we have at this current time, look for that page in the next couple of days or so.
