I am looking for suggestions on where to mount the receiver.

looks like there's a wooden deck, you can mount it there or, if its removable, you could mount it underneath the deck

Looks like you have room to mount it behind the battery. Make sure the antenna side of the receiver is pointed away from the battery because the battery will block signal reception.

Thats if you use Spektrum, I fly with Flysky and doesnt care where you put the antennas , one of the many things I like with Flysky
