Does the Eflite UMX Waco absolutely need the flying wires? In short, I crashed it. Nose first by the way. I'm almost finished completing the rebuild. I used foam tac and clear shipping tape on all of the cabanes. They seem to be very strong. I purchased new wires, but they seem to get in the way more than anything. If they are a part of the planes structural integrity they will go back on. If anyone can give me a heads up, that would be great!! Keep the air under your feet.....I mean wings!!

More for looks, but they do help the wings from twisting. -
I used chrome elastic cord for dummy rigging wires from craft store. Model does not need rigging wires for rigidity but bipes look kinda naked without rigging . Elastic cord goes slack after a year and needs replacement.Comment

Most ARF/RTF/PNF models the flying wire are 100% decoration.
You usually have to get into detailed scale kits to find a model that needs the wires to hold the wings in position.
My Proctor 1/6 scale Sopwith Camel, the flying wires hold the wings on.FF gliders and rubber power since 1966, CL 1970-1990, RC since 1975.

The wires on this one are required, but most not so much. Even my Ryan does not need them but they do add visually and enhance the sound in flight.Comment
