  • Dynam vs FMS Corsair?

I want to fly my first Corsair...
I like both the Dynam and the FMS... they seem to be about the same size and specs, but the FMS is about twice the price... am I missing something that would steer me toward the FMS?

    RE: Dynam vs FMS Corsair?

    Hey Brad and welcome ,,,,

My thoughts would be how experienced a pilot are you ? If you are a very experienced pilot it doesn't matter which one but if you lack it get the Dynam .

Without a lot of flight time and setting up experience you will crash . I'm not trying to scare you but we have all been there . I have the Dynam and it is a nice built plane . There are a few differences in them but the Dynam it a good flyer . Look at the video Ryan and Mike made and they are straight forward with what they do . The info they give is great to have .
The Dynam doesn't have flaps to learn when and how to use . Also you are going to need at least a 6 chnl radio for both planes . The FMS needs a 3600 battery where as the Dynam uses a 2200 .
If its your first warbird I suggest the Dynam till you get more practice in .
Let us know what you decide

      RE: Dynam vs FMS Corsair?

      Hello Brad,
Totally concur with Bryan's remarks but will throw my observations in for your consideration also.
If you have never flown a warbird, I would steer clear of the Corsair for now and invest in the T-28 in order to get the experience level built and reinforced because it was a trainer in real life for a specific reason. Dynam is making some great warbirds that are about half the price of the FMS equivalents but you also don't get the size(1270 vs 1400), lack of control features such as flaps, and like in the case of the Corsair as you have inquired the prop(3 vs 4 blade) along with a motor sizing(3270-500 vs 4250-540) for the different props sizes. That basically in a nutshell is what you were missing.
      Best Regards,
      Warbird Charlie

        RE: Dynam vs FMS Corsair?

Hello Pilots, I was just going to say, out of the Dynam Corsair and the FMS Corsair. FMS would highly be the better choice. Two things, Quality of components and motor inside the Corsair. Dynam is a fine product, yes. There are just a couple things people don't know, that can make the motor have issues. If you get one that has the front dummy motor holes filled in by plastic. The air flow doesn't allow the motor to cool, thus it gets hot and doesn't last as it could. The same thing can cause the servos and internal temperature inside the fuselage to heat up. It's not very serious, but it's something that should be looked at by any pilot. The FMS fly's super, I really never had any issues with mine. I folded the mains two or three times, but they always came back out. I could just oil them slightly and they worked fine. Dynam retracts are known to stop under cold temp as well. The good news; Dynam is building a better model for the future. Most of the 2016 lineup should be good to go. What I really wish-"is we were able to talk about up coming projects! The future of RC War-birds, Jets and so forth are almost Alien "in more" advanced products! The futures so Bright I gotta wear Shades!
