    RE: E-Flite T-28 Arrived Today!!

    Greetings,

Yeah, my wife always asks "What's the circus doing now that you have the cannons?"

I suppose they are big, but man, they sure are fun.

        RE: E-Flite T-28 Arrived Today!!

        Greetings,

        Indeed....

One of my favorite pasttimes is to set one of the big boys up at local shopping centers when the moon is visible and invite people to observe it.

I always get a kick out of it when they ask, "Can you see the craster's?" and I'm like, "Pick one!"

It's really lots of fun! I enjoy doing public and private Star Parties.

Anyway, I realize this isn't the platform for astronomy chats, but when the subject came up I just thought I'd share.

Very Cool Rocketeer! Wish I had the chance to view the moon through a telescope that size!

            RE: E-Flite T-28 Arrived Today!!

            Greetings,

You may someday get your wish, my friend.

I'm currently working on making the images in the scope viewable real-time via the internet.
Still need to workout a couple of bugs on the motion rate of the scope in conjunction with the rotation of the earth so the object will last longer in the camera's field of view.

            Stay tuned!

Definitely! It is kind of funny that I work for NASA, and even was involved in the review and building of the Hubble Space Telescope and Chandra during my career, but other than the usual news and press releases of pictures from Hubble and Chandra, I rarely see any of the pictures from either one at work.

Pretty  cool Bill, the skies in Wyoming are incredible, I'd love to have one of those in my back yard!

Anyone flown the E-Flite T-28? Any thoughts on it; good, bad or indifferent? Any quirks to be aware of?

The plane flies very well. I maiden with the standard power plant and decided I could use a little more power. I added a Gecko 65 ESC from MRC and changed the wheels to Dave Brown 2.5 all the way around. I love the way the plane flies now on a 4-cell 2500 Admiral battery. I usually fly with 3/4 throttle now. You need to modify the ESC compartment just a little to make the ESC fit. Pushing the battery forward just a little give the correct CG. Great flying plane!

where are you putting your battery.  I'm using the Admiral 3 cell 2200 and can't seem to hit the right spot.  A little movement either way makes it either real nose heavy or tail heavy.
