    Mig-27 foamy

Here is my finished Mig-27. This was originally purchased by the Army for use as an aerial target. I found it at a swap meet for $20 and finally finished it after a year or so. It weighs 9.5 lbs ready to fly. Uses a 6S 5800 pack with an SK3 5055-320 motor and an APC 17-12E prop. Makes about 900 watts and this should fly OK, but I may need a higher KV motor to get more power and speed with 6 cells.

With the long nose I had to position all the components as far aft as possible to get the CG correct. I added tricycle landing gear with nose wheel steering (but no rudder).

In my younger days I flew some of these targets for the gunners. Here is a souvenir from one flight. The machine gun bullet hit the top of the engine dead center and went straight down through the piston.

Did they give that gunner an award? lol. I see it's not your first rodeo at modelling. Good work sir. Would like to see it fly one day.
