Oh Yaeh!  You just cant beat the sight and sound of a 4 engine bomber. Also civilian jumbo bird such as 747 or A380 woulld be a kick

I have a soft spot for the B-29. My father was a right gunner on a 29.

I do not think anybody makes B-29's, I have only seen the custom large scale gasser birds, can you imagine the relliability of 4 engines, let alone keeping them tuned

B-29 is an interesting plane. We are also very partial to a civilian 747 or A380 as mentioned above. The problem we are finding with a modern airliner is the cost of licensing. We'll get it figured out.

For the 29 you could do several themes. The Enola Gay, or one with Yeager's X-1 in it. Or the black bottom like my dad's.

                RE: B-29 Superfortress

Between the 24 and 29 I would choose the 29.  That said, to make it interesting the model would have to be large enough to convey the size of the prototype.  There are already decent 1600 and 1800mm B-17 foamies, a B-29 would have to be bigger than those to be of interest to me.

I realize larger size complicates design, raises cost and make transportation an issue.  However, I doubt I would buy a 1400 to 1600 mm B-29.

                Just my two cents.

My 2 cents, I'd prefer the B-29 over the B-24.  And may as well do the Enola Gay if you do move forward, but wouldn't surprise me if that offended some people, so who knows.  But hey man, do the Vulcan first! :)

I got a bunch of guys together to get WOW planes to make a kit of a 83" span B-29. Not an ARF obviously, but for me the perfect size. Fahim is making the prototype right now. Bomb bay is mandatory.

I have also been eagerly watching his build. Fahim has made great progress on it so far, looking forward to seeing it take to the air!

We need a B-29 in a scale that would allow us to fly our 1450mm Mustangs as air cover and look the part! :D

And since the Stangs are approx. 1/8 scale that B-29 would have a span of 211 inches(17.5ft). The modeler that does that is one in a million+

I'd prefer the B-29 over the B-24 as well, primarily because the B-29 has such large wheels and a taller stance than the B-24. Overall the B-29 would be better suited for grass RC fields.
