Not Rare Bear! make it a 1400 - 1700mm (preferably 1700mm) with all the bells and whistles!!
Folding gear! Flaps and dare I say it....folding wings!
With the introduction of the F14 Tomcat with folding/retracting wings, don't tell me it can't be done.
This would be an amazing plane as its not very well covered, if at all, by the RTF community and has so much potential.  A sliding canopy, possibly tied to the flap control?

Sheeeez... Gman. Why don't you just go on ahead and ask for working cannons?!!! But seriously, that would be the bees knees!!! A few years ago there was a guy (smart alec) with a Hellcat at the Santa Fe air show. He kept making low passes. That radial engine thundering in my chest actually brought tears to my eyes. Is it so wrong to love radial engines? I can only imagine what the Bearcat would sound like! Are there any (stock) Bearcats still flying? Doc

Ok guys and especially you guys at Motion R/C
Here's a few facts for you that I just found out.
Did you know that the Bearcat was the Blue Angels first flight demonstration aircraft?
Did you know they first flew in 1946? (Hmmm, lets see that's exactly 70 years ago next year)

Did you know that there was a flight honoring these original Blue Angels pilots by the current Blue Angels?
Check out this video all you vets and even non vets, if it doesn't bring a tear to your eyes, especially the last scene, I don't know what would.
Here's a project that's perfect for Motion R/C, a veteran owned company, this would be an amazing project, honoring the Blue Angels, then and now!

Please seriously consider this and lets hear what you have to say!!

I'm with you guys. Great plane great video. Being a retired Air Force flyer and vet I love all WW ll aircraft and history,would love to have a Bearcat.

A Flightline Bearcat, if they are really looking for something different. I know the gear would have to look a little different but I could live with that. I guess being a bird that just missed WWII and was hardly used during Korea in the front lines, its an overlooked warrior. But as I've said before with 2016 being the 70th Anniversary of the Blue Angels and being that the Bearcat was the first demonstration aircraft they flew in public, it just seems a natural to me.

Being ex-Navy and the whole Blue Angels first starting airframe thing with the Bearcat would be awesome but...........as many pilots that are flying their 1/8 scale birds off of grass strips and complaining about the size of the wheels this one would be a design nightmare. With its looong double articulating oleos and wheels about 1/4 smaller than a P-51 it certainly would only lend itself to the tarmac flyers. I would like to see it but am in no way holding my breath.

I'd like to see it in 1600mm, and realize that this was the smallest bird (I gather there talking WWII on) the US Navy every purchased, so with a 1600mm wingspan, it would make for a large scale airplane, hell make it 1700mm!!!

I agree with you on the oleos, that's where the sacrifice would have to be made. Grumman always seemed to have some funky ideas regarding landing gear, the Hellcat being as close to normal as they every got. Still, there are some videos of Bearcats in R/C and they look great

So, a Bearcat had a wingspan of 35' 6". or 426 inches. So, correct me if I'm wrong if you built a Bearcat with a 1700mm (66.92") that would make the scale just a little better than 1/6th??
