Nocky Welcome, Nocky! Mad Baron is right, a good place to start is to see if there is an RC club near your location. Where do you live? The members here are from all over the US and throughout the world. There's a "checklist" of sorts on the Knowledge Blog on MotionRC.com, and I'd also encourage you to browse here on Hobby Squawk and ask any questions you have. We're all always keen to encourage new pilots.
