  • Conversion to shock absorbing landing struts

Do they make Oleo type struts for 1100 & 1200 sized warbirds? I see gear ripped out on grass and shock loading a problem on less than perfect asphalt landings. Seem like newer 15-1700 sized planes have them...any conversions for smaller planes.

They are made that small occasionally.

They are not really effective because of the limited travel range available.

Trailing link style gives more travel than simulated "oleo" strut. Even then its marginally effective at absorbing the shock of bumpy runways.

the place I used to get them is no longer in business. Hobby King has some, but not a good selection for the smaller sizes.
FF gliders and rubber power since 1966, CL 1970-1990, RC since 1975.

current planes from 1/2 oz to 22 lbs
