    Apprentice STS elevator

I'm new to the hobby and just got my first plane. After assembly of Apprentice STS the elevator has some up deflection after binded on level ground whether in safe mode or not. I unscrewed the clevis so now I have no deflection. Is this correct or did I screw up? Haven't flown it yet.

I doubt you've screwed anything up. On your first flight, trim it as per the manual (with some altitude, safe off). When you land, put the plane back on level surface, turn safe off again, look at the control surfaces carefully, take the trim back to neutral and manually adjust that rod so that the control surface look like what they looked like when you landed. Do it for all control surfaces. Do it before you power off the plane. With some of these "safe" planes, once you power it off, it likely forgets the trim for the next flight.
