E Flight Extra 300

I just picked up an E Flight Extra 300 from a swap meet (perfect condition, it only looks like it was flown a few times and you can only tell that by looking at the wheel skirts) and even though I set dual rates and all I am not getting anywhere near the recommended movement of any of the controls. I am using a DX6e. The Receiver is a an AR636A and I can not locate it in the spectrum website. I found an AR636 that has the Extra 300 file to reset the receiver with just not sure if it will work correctly as this one as the 636A in it....
Any Ideas on how to get this corrected?

Where are the control rods in relation to the servo arms or control arm on the plane surface?
