  • CG balance P-47

Trying to balance the CG on my old P-47 with a 67 inch wingspan. Any help with a close to accurate distance from the leading edge will be appreciated.

You should say which one you have? Eflite, FMS, Dynam, Arrows, Phoenix, HobbyKing, TopFlite, SkyAngel, Seagull, Nexa, Black Horse?

67 inch span and should the landing gear be up or down in your opinion? Sorry for the two part reply.

Now that we know what Jug it is, perhaps someone will come along to comment on the CG. As for balancing with gear up or down, there are varying opinions on this. Do you want the plane balanced properly during take off and landing or do you want it to be able to fly balanced (or hands free) during the bulk of the flight? This is a low wing plane, so it should be balanced upside down. If you don't get an answer, a "rule of thumb" is to use 1/4 to 1/3 of the wing cord from the leading edge at the fuse to the trailing edge.
