Hi, new member: 1st time on the forum, recently retired, bored crazy! Got myself into a little problem. I bought a crashed Goldberg j-3 cub from a friend about 25 years ago. It sat in the corner all this time, never complaining! Anyway I stripped the old covering, repaired everything, decided to recover it in olive drab ( glossy) did the wing, guess what! Can’t get glossy olive drab monokote anymore . Question is do I have to recover the wing or can I spray a flat finish on the wing? Would like to buy a couple rolls of glossy if anyone has any lying around. Thanks: jerry48

Welcome Jerry. You have choices (nice to have choices). You can paint Monokote, scuff it with steelwool and paint. But the better choice is to get some more olive drab. Go over to RCG and put a want ad in the classifieds. I say to go there since there is a lot more traffic at that site.
