One of the guys had this little beauty out at the Fly In last September. You just can't help loving these. He was saying its an old plane, can't remember what kit it was, but someone out there might recognize it.

Actually one of the issues Maxford has is size. Another is PRICE!

That Rumpler would be wonderful if in the same scale as Dynam's Albatross.... and at a more reasonable price.
Having built and owned a few Maxford I can say they are a fair value. But as you note not cheap. I base this on what it would take me to make the model from basic materials. This is a 600 square inch model of a little known aircraft. That "EEEEK!" is why we won't see any real attempt at making/marketing models other than the P-51's and such.

The market just doesn't tolerate "odd balls" very well. Luckily we as real modelers can make our own, which really is a good thing. With laser cutters it is almost too easy.

That depends on far too many variable to make a real answer. In the mid 80's I manufactured a 0.15cid Quarter Midget racer called the D.U.M.P. (Denver Unlimited Mustang Prototype). Based on $12 an hour It would take me about 80 units to make back the time/money of making the plugs and molds. This was glass fuse (dead fish) and hot wire cut foam wing cores. I tried to get Tower Hobbies to market the model. But to get them to list it in their catalog with their mark up I would be loosing $23 for every model I sold trying to be competitively priced with Prather Li' Tony. This wasn't taking into account the idiot customers that failed to read and understand the manual, wanting a refund for their errors. So in my case the number would have been infinite!

Now some might say I had a marketing problem with the name!
