Durafly TUNDRA Maiden Flightl on Snow Skis

I just did my maiden flight with the Durafly TUNDRA on snow skis. All went well on the maiden, but at the end of my second flight I came in hot on the tail wheel and broke the rudder servo. An easy $5.00 fix, otherwise not a scratch. Very nice plane, fun to fly. I put the tundra tires on and am waiting for the snow to melt. Watch for that video.

Very cool, the Tundra looks like a fun plane! What battery did you use and how long did you fly?

I used an admirable 3s 2200mah 45c (from Motion RC of course) Two flights (1 battery each) 7-8 minutes each. Each battery were around 35% after each flight. Plenty of power when I needed it.

Looks like a great plane for this type of weather. Do you have any other Durafly models?
You might be able to fly it, but can you land it?

Yes, I have the sky mule with wheels and skis. A really great plane, until the c-clip came off one of the motors and it took off like a bat out of hell. Needless say I crashed. Minor repairs and I was back flying. Fun plane, especially on skis. I also have the P51-D Old Crow with flaps and retracts, also a really nice flyer and fast. I wouldn't hesitate buying another Durafly, really good quality, except for that c clip. I'll try to send some pictures tomorrow.

Cool, I've got a durafly efx racer on the stock setup that flies really nicely. If your looking to get another durafly model, get it. It's nice and fast and surprisingly easy to fly after you get it into the air. There is a lot of torque on launch, so you have to launch the plane tilted to the right. I don't know about hitting the 100 mph mark stock, but change out the prop and you might hit that mark. Too bad hobbyking doesn't have the customer support MRC does, right? Buying there is a bit of a gamble.

I agree, but sometimes you just can't pass up their pricing. Has improved a bit since they opened the Arkansas warehouse. But your right about Motion RC, their the BEST. I get everything I can from them. Awesome people to work with. Two day delivery on every order, can't beat that.
